People
are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what
they dream of.
– Beth Bingham
Lise
offers counseling and coaching sessions that are tailored
to meet the needs of each individual client. She blends
her training in psychotherapy, drama therapy and energy
healing to diversify her approaches to clients’
needs. Sessions run an hour to an hour and a half and
are usually held in San Diego, CA. Phone consultations
and long distance healings are offered as well. Below
is a sketch of Lise’s therapeutic modalities.
·
Psychotherapy
The
term “psychotherapy” is a derivative of two
Greek words – psyche (the soul) and therapeia (to
heal/treat). In its original context, psychotherapy was
thought of as a treatment for healing the soul. Whether
working one on one or with a couple or family, Lise gently
challenges people to embrace their power, let go of distorted
thinking, to open their hearts and to live life to the
fullest. (Lisa Porter, MFC # 40726).
·
Drama Therapy
Drama
therapy is a healing modality that uses theatre techniques
and concepts to promote growth, insight and spontaneity.
Based on the premise that creativity is fundamentally
healing, it covers a broad range of theatre, including
creative drama games, role-play, improvisation, autobiographical
theatre, mask work, puppetry and play therapy. Most important,
it fosters imagination and translates it into action.
·
Energy Healing
Energy
healing integrates the physical, emotional and spiritual
aspects of our being. It is based on the principle that
health requires a natural flow of energy in the body and
that stress and disease disrupt this energy flow, causing
blockages that disrupt the body’s equilibrium. Energy
healing helps restore this imbalance through hands on
techniques, meditation and breath work.
· Coaching
Coaching
provides support and guidance to help clients enhance
performance and attain specific goals. In sessions, clients
develop an action plan for accomplishing tasks and meeting
their potential. In addition, Lise explores psychological
dimensions that may impede clients from success and incorporates
experiential techniques such as role rehearsal, guided
imagery and verbal and visual affirmations.
·
Supervision
Lise
provides supervision to drama therapists seeking registry.
She has also applied to be a board-certified trainer for
the National Association of Drama Therapy.
